AR Black Police Officers File Discrimination Suit

In March 2018 four black police officers in Arkansas filed a lawsuit claiming that their police department and chief of police engaged in racist discrimination including retaliation for their complaints. The officers claim that the chief targeted them for their membership in a black officers’ association. They believe that the chief, who is black, was used by white political leaders in the city to cover accusations of overt racism and to relieve their guilt. Such discrimination of black employees leaves those employees unequal.
